Good News Ghee is a mama-founded, women-run small business rooted in the heart of the Appalachian Mountains near Asheville, NC. Our story began in our founder Marion Hearth’s early days of motherhood, guided by the belief that food can be a profound source of nourishment. Ghee has long carried this tradition, and we are honored to continue it with care and intention.
We make small-batch, grass-fed ghee using traditional methods, organic and local ingredients whenever possible, and sustainable practices at every step. Each batch is crafted by hand and tended with respect for the land, the animals, and the people who help bring it to life. Our ghee begins with cultured butter from pasture-raised cows and is made with the same love we hope you feel in your home and kitchen.
Good News Ghee is, at its heart, a mother-centered brand, born from one mother’s journey and strengthened by the many hands and hearts who now tend it. We hope the joy and integrity of our team make their way into every spoonful and that our ghee offers simple, meaningful nourishment for your body, mind, and home.
Marion Hearth / Founder
Marion Hearth birthed Good News Ghee Ghee in 2015 after asking herself the question, “What am I already doing/creating that I can make more of to share more gifts with my community?”. Ghee was the obvious answer. Marion had been making ghee each moon cycle since the birth of her first baby just two years earlier and ghee was the one staple in her kitchen that she didn’t let run dry. Marion began slowly - selling at farmer’s markets with a baby wrapped on her and a toddler running around - not imagining that Good News Ghee would outgrow her in the ways it has. Marion is passionate about food as medicine, earth stewardship, resilient & sovereign living, natural motherhood, the arts, and deeply knowing God. Devoted to sharing this medicine and holding a vision of supporting a beautiful and simple way of life, Marion hopes that this medicine nourishes everyone it touches.

True (Lydia) Senghas
OFFICE
True is in the office; she answers the emails and connects with our wholesale distributors. True discovered Good News Ghee at a farmer’s market in 2015, and was ecstatic to find a locally sourced and high quality cooking oil option. Upon learning it was a women owned and run business, and that employees were encouraged to take time off on the first days of their monthly cycle, she thought to herself, “this would be a wonderful company to work for…” Life ebbed and flowed and in 2021 she was living off grid in a bell tent, learning the simple ways of living in the forest. Feeling a desire to reconnect to community and shake up her slow and remote lifestyle, she decided to look for a part time gig. The stars aligned and she began selling Good News Ghee at the market every Saturday, and then transitioned into the office position later that year. As an aspiring mother and lover of holistic health, she feels so nourished in this role. Providing the service of getting the ghee to the people feeds her soul. True’s passions are multifaceted; in addition to high energy food, wellbeing, and nature-connected living, she also loves dance, poetry, myth, crafting, cultural immersion, and ceremony.

Julia Loretta Romero
OFFICE
Julia works in our lovely office with high ceilings and big windows overlooking the French Broad River.
She labels each jar, packs up your orders and delivers to local businesses. Having worked in the kitchen for 3+ years, she feels an intimate connection with each blend and recipe, and it brings her such joy to send these wonderful products out into the world. She feels so grateful and blessed to be part of this wonderful team, to support and be supported by Good News Ghee.
Outside of Good News Ghee, Julia spends time in nature and in her home studio, recording layers of harmonies and working on her abstract landscape oil paintings. You can find her work here.

Sara Foster
KITCHEN
Sara works in the Good News Ghee kitchen, where she loves spending days alongside sisters, working with her hands and pouring blessing and joy over each jar.
Prior to Good News Ghee, Sara spent over 10 years in corporate marketing which eventually led to total burnout. A sabbatical turned career pivot into health and wellness led her straight back to Jesus, our ultimate healer.
Her journey has become more of a surrendered, simplified approach to life where she loves to learn more about God’s design for us and all the ways He has provided for us to heal - through His word and through His world, in things like this medicinal food that comes from His creation.
She’s grateful to be part of the Good News Ghee team, and excited for more adventure with Jesus!

Kara Seymour
KITCHEN / SOCIAL MEDIA
Kara wears several hats at Good News Ghee, from cooking in the kitchen and selling at the farmers market, to managing our social media.
After spending 20 years as a full-time yoga teacher, Kara encountered the true Good News in 2024 when she came to know, love and follow Jesus. Leaving behind her yoga career, she discovered a new joy in creating things by hand, starting with homemade pasta and later learning the art of sourdough bread while working at a local bakery.
Her love for slow, intentional food and her desire to work for a Christian owned company led her to join our team, where faith and food meet in the most beautiful way.
When she’s not at work, you’ll find Kara in her favorite place — home — making pasta, bread, hosting weekly dinners for her sisters, and leading her online faith-based women’s community, Pasta ✞ Prayers. Link here to learn more.
