The Name Change

This announcement was made in September 2025:

Hey y'all! Marion here, founder of Goddess Ghee.

I have some big, surprising news to share — so I'll get right to it:

I changed the name of the ghee you love.

"Why on earth would you change your brand name after 10 years of successful business and building brand recognition!?" I know... crazy.

Allow me to explain.

As you all know this is my "business baby". At times I have made attempts to "wean" it from me or separate my personal identity from the business, but ultimately I am the only steward of this beautiful brand that we all love so much.

Over the past year I have gone through massive changes in my personal and spiritual life. I don't typically share much of my personal life here, so this feels vulnerable: but I want you all to understand my heart in this change and why it feels in deep integrity for me to do this.

I am not the same woman I was when I named this brand 10 years ago. Over the years, I've experienced some changes in my personal and spiritual life, and the name "Goddess Ghee" no longer feels like an authentic reflection of who I am today.

Last year I re-embraced my former Christian faith. This came after more than a decade of exploring different spiritual paths. It's been a beautiful, humbling, and challenging transition.

I know that many of you connected with the name Goddess Ghee in your own unique ways. For some, it represented feminine strength, motherhood, nourishment, beauty, or a connection to the sacred. I recognize and appreciate that, and I'm deeply grateful for the community that has grown around this business over the years. I carry ALL of those concepts forward.

For me, changing the name isn't about rejecting my former community or asking anyone else to share my beliefs. It’s simply about bringing the business I love into greater alignment with the person I've become.

My faith is deeply personal, and while it influences how I live and care for this business, I want everyone to know that this ghee is made with the same love and care for all people, regardless of their faith or spiritual path.

And so, as the owner and mother who stewards this brand with my heart and soul, always aiming to choose what feels in integrity as a business owner, it is time to make this shift.

And: it isn't without any fear. Change can be scary.

But my faith is greater than my fear and I know I am making a choice that feels honest.

Sooooo. By now you're wondering about the new name, aren't you!?

Holy Ghee? Glory Ghee? Hallelujah Ghee? Gospel Ghee? Godly Ghee?

No. (LOL...)

I didn't want to shift to something that would be as equally narrowing or polarizing as "Goddess Ghee". I wanted the new name to be wider — to invite all people, regardless of how they relate to "goddess" to enjoy this ghee... and regardless of their unique spiritual path.

This is why I chose... drumroll!...

GOOD NEWS GHEE

Because who doesn't need some good news?

And... in a world of really low quality (and quite frankly, rancid) ghee this truly is the Good News Ghee.

And while the name has changed, the heart of this business has not. The same small-batch methods, beautiful ingredients, recipes, and commitment to nourishing you and your loved ones remain.

Same amazing ghee. Same small batch values. Same prayers for your wellbeing infused into every jar.

And I am so grateful to each and every customer who will make this transition with me — including our retailers. I know that not everyone will cheer or understand this change and that's okay. I hope you can at least respect my desire to be honest and aligned with my values — and embrace our new name.

I thank you for the ways you have supported my business over the years and I hope that we can continue nourishing you and your loved ones.

From my heart to yours,

Marion Hearth
Mama of Good News Ghee
